The Bulldog Battle
1: Kawshin, representing the Infinite Wreck crew from Wichita, peeps the floor of the Granada from an inverted perspective as he prepares for competition.
2- Patrons await the third annual Bulldog Battle to begin. Competitions were scheduled to get underway at 4 p.m. but did not beging until about 6 p.m.
3- Vincent Pigno of Buggin' Out, a breakdancing team made up of Lawrence residents, spins ont he Granada floor after stretching in preparation for the third-annual Bulldog Battle. "I need to get all the sore out of my muscles," he said.
4- About 150 people watch the two-on-two battle between Lawrence's Buggin' Out crew and Chicago's Brickheadz crew. The Bulldog Battle awarded $1,200 in cash prizes to competitors.
5- Jigsaw taunts his copetitor, Popula, during the Popping and Locking finals. The all-ages second day of the Bulldog Battle brought crews from all over the Midwest into Lawrence.
6- Bam-Bam checks out Huascar "Waka" Alcantara's breakdance moves during the one-on-one finals. Waka, from the Brickheadz crew, won the event.
7- The final event of the Bulldog Battle, the crew-on-crew competition, fills the Granads with noise and energy.
8- Bam-Bam's feet stay in constant motion during the one-on-one finals.
